Description

Grand Prix du Cinquantenaire cloth banner for the races organized in the city of Roubaix France on the May 7th 1950 weekend with motorcycle, car racing and a children’s car race. The main event was won by Raymond Sommer in his Ferrari. The weekend was a celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Automobile Club du Nord and with good purses it attracted many Formula 1 teams.

The banner reads: Grand Prix Automobile du Cinquantenaire, Tribunes Officielle & Nadaud, Gradins Lefebvre, Pelouse. Describing where certain grand stands and viewing areas were located. The banner was reused at a later event so they painted over the irrelevant information. With a wooden stick on each side. 72.5” x 47”, A- cond. (stained and minor rip).
