Description

The 1973-74 oil crisis put more people on bicycles and oil companies saw a profit opportunity selling bicycles when they had no gas to sell. The Suncrest bike program went into effect at twelve Sunoco stations in November 1973. The following spring, the corporation extended the program to dealers in seven states. Suncrest bicycles were American built to Sun Oil Company’s specifications. The Suncrest bicycle brand was sold to Fuji in 1977. This is a rare dealer sign from a Sunoco/DX gas station, hanging bracket is in the back. Overall size 59" x 35", B+ cond., (shows wear and knicks).
