Originally made in 1909 by W. Furick after the successful Gordon Bennett Mercedes racer shown at speed with Camille Jenatzy at the wheel and his mechanic. By popular demand the ink well / sculpture was produced in limited quantity to sale in upscale department stores in Germany with a wood base as an option, bronze with silver plating, with 2 openings for glass ink well and desk accessories (not included), 24” x 11.5” including wood base which was added later, 15.5” x 9” without the base, A- cond. (tarnish).
