Bugatti vintage enamel sign by Emaillerie Alsacienne-Strasbourg - According to Hugh Conway, the ultimate historian on Bugatti, one or two signs were originally produced to adorn the entrance of the Bugatti factory by the emaillerie mentioned above. Those sign(s) have disappeared or have been destroyed. Hugh Conway, aware of their existence, then decided, with the Bugatti owners club England in the early 1960’s, to commission the original company to produce a handful for the club members. The one we are presenting is from this batch. It measures 18.75″ x 11.75″ plus a lip at each corner for wall hanging. This one has a wooden frame that was added at a later date. Overall size 23.5″ x 16.5″. A- cond. (restored chip on edge).
