    Ford v Ferrari The Movie
THE STORY OF FORD AT LE MANS IN THE MID 1960's

After being unsuccessful at buying the Ferrari factory Henry Ford II decided to build his own car to beat Ferrari for the overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Winning the GT class in 1964 and beating the Ferrari 250 GTO in the Ford Cobra Coupe it will take them until 1966 and a very large budget before he was able to realize his dream by winning the prototype class finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd that year with his racing partner Carroll Shelby. Ford and Shelby would continue to take this honor for the next 3 years at which time Henry Ford II, having accomplished his goal, pulled out of racing. It's probably best for Ferrari that Ford didn't buy his company as the marque might have vanished after his accomplishment. We will never know.

If you haven't seen it yet the Ford v Ferrari movie is in theaters now. Enjoy the movie and the related items we have at the gallery.
