  • Piston and rod assembly from the Corvette C5R driven at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2001

From the car driven by Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. along with Keith Collins and Andy Pilgrim, they finished 4th overall and 2nd in class. It’s told that Dale Sr. leaned over to his teammate on the podium, Andy Pilgrim to say “2nd sucks, doesn’t it son?”. Senior enjoyed endurance racing and wanted to do more but unfortunately, he was killed a few weeks later at the Daytona 500. This trophy was assembled by the Corvette team, along with the 7 other pistons and given as a gift to the drivers and a few team members. 12.25” high x 9” wide, A- cond. (loose rings).
