The original boat was built on lake Como in 1951 for Achille Castoldi, fitted with a Ferrari 4.5 liter V12 engine, equipped with twin superchargers producing 502 Horsepower. A record was set in 1953 for the 800 kilogram class at 150.19 Miles per Hour, which still stands today. The model is hand built from wooden slats pinned to the frame.
