A great and rare present for the Ferrari enthusiast and collector.
In the 1950s and 1960s, with his appreciation for fine machinery, Enzo Ferrari decided to work with multiple Swiss watchmakers to create a few watches and chronographs with the Ferrari logo on the face so he could present them to some of his drivers and race team members.
The one we are presenting here was made in 1958, after the Targa Florio where Ferrari finished first, third and fourth overall, with Luigi Musso, Olivier Gendebien, Wolfgang von Trips, Mike Hawthorn, Peter Collins, and Phil Hill at the wheel.
The watch is a gold plated chronograph, 37 mm diameter, with a stainless steel case, a white face, gold hands, and numbers, and it is inscribed with the “Prancing Horse” logo, “Scuderia Ferrari,” the “checkered flag” and the word “Swiss” at the bottom. The stainless steel back is engraved with the “Targa Florio” logo and dated 1958.
The watch is in very good and working condition.
